Environmentally Friendly Groundskeeping and Landscape Gardening in Leeds

Eco-friendly garden maintenance: Recently we have taken on gardening work in a local primary school where apart from planting, maintenance and groundskeeping, the brief is to encourage the children to engage more with their environment. This has been achieved by bringing nature into the school grounds by attracting insects and birds using a combination of planting and setting aside land in a beneficial way.

Sustainable landscape gardening in Leeds: All landscaping and garden design projects are undertaken with an eye to sustainability and the impact that climate change is likely to have upon our part of the world. Wherever possible building materials, and especially timber, are sourced from replenishable stocks and, although its use is unavoidable, cement use is kept to a minimum for our landscape gardening projects.

Water conservation: Although the recent rainy weather would seem to contradict it, rainwater management is now a crucial part of gardening and landscaping with the trend toward higher temperatures and drier summers. This means using less thirsty plants for our landscaping projects and conserving whatever water is available within the vacinity.

Wildlife habitat: Whilst a new patio or decking looks great we need to remember that both represent a loss of habitat for birds and insects which are essential for any garden to flourish, and so with any new building project we try to incorporate a wild area or specific planting to encourage wildlife back into the garden.
